The Company
Are you a franchise?

How long have you been in business?
Our company was founded by Don Kennedy in 2006.
What kind of work does ProMaster do?

Our Employees
Do you have an apprentice program?
Yes. However, due to the nature of home repair, it is not as formalized or structured as it is for other trades. Hence, the apprenticeship is highly tailored to the individual and involves mostly on-the-job-training. In addition, there are no formal timelines. Apprentices become Craftsmen when they are ready.
Do I have to provide my own tools?
Yes. Employees provide their own basic hand and power tools. We have many larger items at our shop for your use (ladders, specialty tools, trailers, etc.). We also rely heavily on rental equipment.
I’m a tobacco user. I see that you are a professional, clean-cut group. Is it OK for me to smoke or chew?
Yes. Most of our field personnel use tobacco. We just refrain from doing so in legally prohibited places or on customer’s property. We are not hostile to tobacco use.
Can I wear long hair, earrings and a beard?
No. We are a professional home service company. Our clients expect our craftsman to be well-groomed. We allow a short goatee or mustache and men must shave every day. We understand many today disagree with us over this policy and that it is a “non-starter” for many talented craftsmen. However, we aren’t compromising on this, so don’t bother to ask for an exception.
Do you provide uniforms?
Yes. Our craftsmen have designed their own uniform items. We have a variety of items to choose from, ranging from short to long-sleeve collared and non-collared shirts of various materials, to hats, jackets and flannels. We like to look good while we work, yet remain comfortable.
Am I allowed to carry a firearm while in the field?
Yes. Our company is supportive of an individual’s natural and constitutional right to bear arms. We direct all employees to carry within the guidelines of state and local laws while respecting the wishes of private property owners.
Field Work
I’m afraid of heights. Can I just take jobs that keep me on the ground?
No. You must be comfortable working off a ladder. The nature of home repair is such that you must be comfortable with heights.
Do I have to work outside in the elements?
Yes. We work all year around and in all weather conditions. If the work can be safely and properly done, your discomfort is not a justification to not work. While we make every effort to schedule indoor work during the winter, you must be able to work in cold, wind and precipitation.
Do I have to purchase materials for customer jobs with my own money?
No. All materials are purchased on company accounts. Employees are given credit cards to cash-and-carry all materials. We do not rely on trade accounts or ask employees to front money for materials.
Do I have to generate my own leads?
No. We’re wizards at making the phone ring. We qualify, sell and schedule those incoming leads for you.
Do I have run around and do estimates for free?
No. We charge for estimates and you get paid to do them.
Do I have to find my own help if I need a second set of hands?
No. Our Operations Manager will schedule one or more of the other guys on the team to assist you when needed.
Do I have to come to the office each morning?
No. You can see the calendar for the entire team on your computer, phone or tablet. You dispatch from home and complete all “paperwork” electronically. The only time you need to come to the office is for our weekly team meeting.
